What is the difference between a blog a feeder blog and splogs?
Blogs have become quite popular, and when something becomes popular it will allways been forks or ways to tweak this to gain more traffic to you’re main source.
It seems though that lots of people just can’t differ between the phrases thrown out on the web, so i will take some time to try to explain what these different blogs actually are, and how you can benefit from them.
A blog : From wikipedia : A blog (short for web log) is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.
When you tell someone you have a blog, most people refer to a blog as you’re main blog, or to you’re own personal blog ehere they can find interesting articles and often updated handwritten posts. That is the thing about a blog…handwritten (as in, you write it), and originallity is two things that should be present at a blog. You certainly allso want to sell something, so put up some ad’s that fit good in you’re blog’s design and allso use some links and tools in the posts, that can make them even more interesting. You’re main blog should have their own domain, or atleast, their own subdomain at a paid host and from you’re own paid domain.
Let’s take a look at feeder blogs: IMO (There can be others defining it other ways) a feeder blog is a micro niche blog wich you use to feed your main blog. It consist of textrich posts (either made by you, good descriptions from sponsor galleries or small parts of free text for you to use—it can be found some at cozyacademy.com), where the pictures should be small, and you apply a link to you’r mainblog in every post. It is neither overfilled with ads, but have hundreds of links to hardlinktrades, directories, linklists and toplists (+ others if you may find them) wich you trade with.
The main purpose of a feeder blog is to feed your mainblog.
So, what is a splog? : splog = spam blog.
IMO it consist mainly of ads and a rss feed from one or more sponsors. No handwritten articles, no informational at any way, just plain spam.
It’s not too easy to find a splog, cuz it will not show up in high places on SE’s and it will not have gross of links to it from other sites.
It lays mainly there to try to sell to the few that find it, or to feed a feeder blog of yours.
I hope this was of some kind of informational for you.
